Patient Information
Appointments at The Smile Center: Patients are seen by appointment. An appointment can be scheduled by calling 231-733-4409. If you cannot keep an appointment, please call our office at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a missed appointment fee. In the event notice is not given, or if you do not show for you appointment, you will be billed a missed appointment fee. Our answering service will take your calls after hours, on weekends, and during our lunch hour.
Initial Appointments: In order to diagnose your dental health status, at your initial appointment we do a complete examination to evaluate the condition of your teeth, gums, and jaw bones, take x-rays of your entire mouth, and present to you a preliminary treatment plan. A teeth cleaning is normally not provided at your first appointment.
Fees and Payments: When treatment is provided, it is an investment in good dental health. Any treatment fees, deductibles, and co-pays are due the day treatment is provided.
We accept cash, check, and Visa or MasterCard.
If a patient wishes to make monthly payments, we can assist you in making arrangements with Citi Health. Citi Health is a line of credit provided by our bank which offers low monthly payments, often interest free.
Insurance: If you have dental insurance, it will supplement the cost of your dental treatment, but normally does not cover 100% of your treatment fees. Our staff will file claims to the insurance company for you and work with you to maximize your dental benefits. You are responsible to pay your account in the event your insurance company does not pay.
Patient Protection: We are committed to quality care. Our staff is trained in the highest standards of sterilization and infection control. Each instrument and handpiece undergoes autoclaving, a heat and pressure sterilization process, for your protection. Our technology includes the most advanced type of x-rays called digital x-ray. A lead apron is used on all patients while x-rays are taken.
Pre-Medication: Certain diseases and conditions require patients to be pre-medicated with antibiotics prior to dental treatment. You will complete a thorough medical history so we can determine if you are in need of pre-medication. For your protection, we ask you to update your medical history before your appointments.
